How do you become a JAMHI Client?
To become a JAMHI client you need to complete an assessment with one of our Clinicians. Walk-ins only, 8am-1pm Monday-Thursday. Please see our Behavioral Health tabs under “Services” for more information.
How long do assessments take?
Assessments take about three (3) hours so please plan accordingly.
Can I schedule an assessment?
No, these are a first come, first serve basis.
I don’t have insurance; can I still make an appointment?
Yes! We strive to ensure that everyone has access to quality health care.
What’s your cancellation policy?
We require at least a 24-hour notice.
What is TRG?
If you miss too many appointments, you could be referred to the Treatment Readiness Group which will work with you to get you back on track with your appointments.
How do I seek help after hours?
We have an on-call response with screening and crisis intervention for mental health emergencies 24/7. Contact 907-463-3303 or Toll-free 855-463-3303
What’s a sliding scale?
It allows JAMHI to lower or “slide” the fees for the care you or your family receive at JAMHI Health & Wellness. No one is turned away due to the inability to pay! To learn more, go to our Resources tab on our website.
What is JASAP?
It stands for Juneau Alcohol Safety Action Program. It provides accountability and substance use screenings for alcohol/drug related misdemeanor cases which are referred from the district court.
How do I request records?
To request a copy of your records, call (907) 463-3303, where a receptionist will direct you to the clinical records specialist. To request to have records sent to another person or provider, please authorize the disclosure by filling out a Release of Information, which can be found at our front desk or on our website under “Resources”. Once you have provided the ROI for us, let a receptionist know specifically which records you want JAMHI to send.
What’s an ROI and why is it important?
ROI stands for “Release of Information.” An ROI is a form which is filled out by a client, authorizing JAMHI to share protected health information with someone else. Clients may customize ROIs to specify who we can share information with, what types of information can be shared, the purpose for which the information can be shared, and the date on which the authorization expires.
For any further questions about ROIs, please call (907) 463-3303 and ask to speak with the JAMHI’s Privacy Officer.
Can you give me information about another client if they’re a close family member or friend?
If you want a close friend or family member to be active in assisting with your services at JAMHI, you should fill out a Release of Information (ROI) for that person. The ROI can be customized to authorize JAMHI to only share what you are comfortable with. Without an ROI on file, JAMHI must follow strict privacy rules as outlined in HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2.
