What is Neurofeedback?
Neurofeedback is a form of training for the brain. This training is done by measuring the clients EEG and providing the client with real-time feedback. The client’s brain is rewarded for changing its own activity to more appropriate patterns. Neurofeedback is training in self-regulation. Self-regulation training allows the central nervous system to function better.
How does it work?
We apply electrodes to the scalp to listen to the brainwave activity. Next, we process that signal with computer software. There are various methods of delivering Neurofeedback. We commonly deliver neurofeedback through video games, video or audio. Some frequencies we want to promote while others we want to diminish based on the client’s needs. Just like working out a muscle the brainwave activity is “shaped” toward more desirable, more regulated performance.
What is EEG?
EEG is short for electroencephalogram. EEG is a method of measuring the brain’s electrical brainwaves.
What can Neurofeedback helpful with?
ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, PTSD, sleep disorders, headaches, migraines, PMS, and emotional, seizures, the autism spectrum, and cerebral palsy.
